Is the SECURE Act Going To Get Even Stronger?

Almost a year and a half after the SECURE Act (Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement) impacted the retirement planning world, a second bill, the Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2021 was recently approved by the House Ways and Means Committee. This new bill expands upon the original and tweaks the changes regarding contributing and withdrawing from retirement savings vehicles.  
 
Expected to pass in 2021 or 2022, it aims to encourage Americans to save more for retirement, in part by making that process easier.   Read More  »

Missing Participants: What To Do

All too often, retirement plan administrators encounter situations with missing participants or uncashed checks which can lead to significant exasperation. It’s hard to believe that trying to deliver money to someone could yield such frustration, but it happens all too frequently. In an attempt to alleviate some of these woes, and to help ensure that participants and their beneficiaries receive the retirement benefits due to them, the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA) came out with guidance on on this matter earlier this year. New Updated Deadlines for All Business Entities
